Collective Resonance, Dusty Ohms and The Lion Ranger; are excited to announce 'No More Dutch'. This new two-sided single is a deep and bass-heavy exploration into electronic music, anchored firmly with Hip-Hop roots. This release came about when Essex-based producer Dusty Ohms AKA Adam Crafts, and his Leeds based counterpart The Lion Ranger AKA Ed Cross, started writing tracks for it back in 2012/13. Both Dusty and The Lion Ranger were involved in Dubstep around that time under different guises. They had started to dabble more with Hip-Hop inspired beats around the time of starting on this release. We asked Dusty to touch on the creative process going into this release and here is what he has to say:

"The way we both work is quite organically, once the groove and vibe for the track sticks, we kinda let it take its natural path... I don't think there's been an occasion when one of us has suggested or made changes and the other has strongly disagreed, we find a happy medium that works best for the sake of the music.

I'm fairly sure Ed used the MPC his end for some of the beat work. In my studio at the time, I used the Waldorf Rocket, EMU Proteus 2000 and MFB Nanozerg, which is still one of my go-to monophonic synths for bass and chunky sounds. During the mixing stage, I heavily used the Looptrotter Sa2rate which is a hardware saturation unit and a Lexicon for all the reverb and delay duties. Plus a needed mention of the Fabfilter Pro Series plugin's, I literally don't use anything else these days for processing inside the box, my go-to."
